Economical mobile cell with a collaborative robot for automated handling of machine tools

Manufacturing companies want to increase their efficiency. They are increasingly including collaborative robots in the production process. In doing so, they gain all the benefits that automation brings to production and logistics. BTS Company has developed the mobile robotic cells MC100 and MC200 for this purpose.

The mobile cell with a collaborative robot increases efficiency and flexibility in production, allowing the robotized handling to autonomously carry out production of smaller series. The compact and mobile design of the robotic cell offers the greatest flexibility in production and access to production machines. Therefore, we have developed our own mobile cell with a collaborative robot in two basic versions MC100 and MC200.

The mobile cell is designed for handling tasks in processing machines, cutting, de-burring, grinding, polishing, and welding. The cell consists of a collaborative robot, a base station, and transportable or stationary storage containers. Currently, we are installing collaborative robots Hanhwa HCR with a payload of 3 kg, 5 kg, or 12 kg on the cell.

In the mobile cell MC100, the logistics are designed for manual handling of transportable storage containers, while in the mobile cell MC200, the logistics are designed for automated handling with autonomous mobile robots AMR MIR250.



The base unit consists of a basic frame to which a collaborative robot with a robot controller is attached. It is equipped with a positioning system. The base unit can be upgraded with numerous options.

With the help of a manual pallet lifter, it is possible to move the mobile cell to any workstation in the production.
